Delta Gamma

Gamma Nu Chapter at University of North Texas

Officers

Mackenzie Smith

✰ president ✰

Mackenzie is a Senior studying Fashion Merchandising from Godley, Tx. Following graduation, Mackenzie hopes to open up her own LGBTQ+ friendly bridal boutique in Dallas. Her hobbies include reading, shopping, painting, and music. Mackenzie says she loves DG "because it has brought me to many of the greatest people in my life that I know will be a part of it forever. They are the ones that support me in all of my decisions but can also tell me when I am doing something wrong or making a stupid choice. They are the ones that push me past my boundaries but also know my limits. They are the ones that I know I can be completely vulnerable with and show a side of myself that I normally could not show most people." A "boring" fact that Mackenzie would like to share is that she takes a nap almost daily.

Emily Carney

✰ vp: social standards ✰

Emily is a junior from Phoenix, AZ studying Biomedical Engineering with minors in math and biology. She hopes to use her degree to make neural prosthetics for children. In addition to Delta Gamma, Emily is a member of the UNT women's soccer club, the Society of Women Engineers, and the Biomedical Engineering Society. Her hobbies include soccer, reading, and painting. Emily says she loves DG "it has provided me so many opportunities for growth and leadership! I was so shy when I joined in Fall '19 but have since made so many friends and connections with women who really care about me. I feel truly accepted and loved by this chapter and it's so rewarding to give back by being on CMT!" A boring fact that Emily would like to share is that she has a collection of Stephen King books!

Belyn Beville

✰ vp: finance ✰

Belyn is a Sophomore from Southlake, Tx majoring in both Political Science and Criminal Justice. Post-graduation Belyn plans to get her paralegal license and then attend law school. In addition to Delta Gamma, she is a member of the Democrats of UNT, the UNT Tea Society, and the Student Government Association. Belyn says that DG has become her home and fell in love with the chapter because she feels accepted for who she is, flaws and all, and has been given the opportunity to grow as a leader and individual. A boring fact that Belyn would like to share is that she likes frogs.

Alexis Dillard

✰ vp: programming ✰

Alexis is a Sophomore from Southlake, Tx. She is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Alternate Dispute Resolution. Following graduation, Alexis intends to go to law school to become a prosecutor. In addition to Delta Gamma, Alexis is involved in COMM Future Pros. Alexis also loves animals and spends much of her free time reading. She says she loves DG because "it is a place of inclusion and diversity. It stood out to me that DG is different in the sense that it isn’t what a “typical sorority” is. DG encourages and supports its members to be the best version of themselves. My favorite memory in DG was the moment that I got my pin because it meant that I belonged to this amazing sisterhood and was finally a sister for life alongside the amazing friends I had made." A boring fact that she would like to share is that she has a birthmark in her left eye (like a cat), and that she actually enjoys doing homework.

Her hobbies include cooking, reading cheesy romantic novels, and decorating her hypothetical home through countless Pinterest boards. During her time in DG, she has enjoyed "the personal and professional development and friendship I’ve been blessed to experience these past 3 years. Delta Gamma has become my escape and my safe space when I need something constant in all of the 'unprecedented'." A boring fact that Faith would like to share is that she thinks everything bagel seasoning is gross and she is not wrong and nobody won’t convince her otherwise.

Ashleigh Howland

✰ vp: Panhellenic ✰

Ashleigh is a junior from Argle, Tx. She is majoring in Elementary Education with a specialization in ESL & Inclusive Education with a minor in special education. Following graduation, Ashleigh wants to begin her career as an elementary teacher and then recertify to teach middle school science. Ashleigh's interests include rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, baking, crafts, intramurals, binge watching shows and movies. She said she joined DG because "no one in my family had ever been in Greek life and I was looking to find genuine friendships and wanted to be apart of something bigger than myself. This chapter has become more than my friends but they are my family. I have grown as a women and have gained self confidence. This chapter has taught me so many things and I am beyond grateful to get to call these girls my sisters." A boring fact she would like to share is that her favorite animal is a hippo.
